Hey Stranger!

Two original paintings I did based on the following quotes:

1. "Count your night by stars not shadows"

2. "I think I'm beautiful and I'm willing to wait until somebody agrees"

WOW it's been a long time since I posted in here!

But it's ok, I'm back and with a slightly new twist on the Happiness Wall.

Clearly the old version isn't working with me moving about so much and landlords not being too happy with all the sticky tack on the walls SO here's how it's gonna work from now on:

*THIS is the new Happiness Wall.

It's a virtual wall so anyone and everyone can post what makes them happy!

* You can email, comment or tweet me what makes you happy...

* It can be absolutely anything! From something someone said, something you did or something you're looking forward to... if it makes you smile you can post it!

* At the end of every week I'll use all your suggestions and happy things to create some art (like the two above) and post the pictures on here!

And in the meantime I'll post things that make me happy just to keep the blog active :)

Happy New Year!

I wish I knew where I got this from but it's London last year on NYE... <3

Just a quickie to say I'll be back soon! I've been working on some neat ideas for the blog in the new year so this place will pick up a little I hope!

Today I'm feeling pretty good, it's been a tough few months thanks to life throwing all manner of not so nice stuff at me but today things finally feel like they're picking up. New year, new start and all that SO here are my new years happiness resolutions:

* I will finally get permanent residency!

* I will spend as much time as possible with my lovely BF.

* I will work my butt off to get my business idea off the ground.

* I will say thank you every day for all the good things in my life.

Not bad! And I think I can actually do all of them too!

Hiatus

I'm taking a little break from the Happiness Wall until after Xmas...

It's been a rough few months and not a lot of happiness going around so I'm taking a break for a while until things start to pick up...

THEN in the new year The Happiness Wall will be back!!

Picture Improvements!

SO I finally got round to switching over all my iffy DV photos for real digital ones... if you check out some of the older posts I'm sure you can tell the difference!

One day I will have one of those fancy new ones (preferably in either turquoise or pink!) but my trusty 5 year old fuji finepix is doing its job for now.

I have lots of new posts to put up but they'll have to wait until I get back from teaching dance on wednesday! As previously mentioned I am moving more inland (buh-bye seaside view! hello mountains and lake view) to be closer to my job so I'm not going to put any new posts actually ON the wall until it's in its new home in November but I'll still post them on here when they arrive!

For now here is the wall as it looked at the beginning of October...

And thanks for everyone who's commented! It really makes me smile to know some of this is making others smile too :)

Postcard #1

My September postcard from BPS... the back reads:

"According to legend if you gaze into the eyes of the white alligator, you will be blessed with good luck for the coming year"

This postcard came just days after I found out that my grandma had gone back into hospital so it brought a very big smile to my face!

WOW have I ever been remiss in my blogging!

Sorry for the long delay in posting... things have been very hectic (work permits, family problems, etc) BUT I'm back now and with new posts to put up!!

SO I am having to move yet again (I've only been here 3 months!) but work calls and quite frankly there's only so many greyhound bus rides I can take before I go slightly nutso sooo the wall will be moving too! And possibly improving... more on that later!


Anyways I have a full afternoon/evening of romantic movies (which I am dubbing the 'blub a thon'... I already know the Notebook makes me cry... I suspect the others will too!) so I shall be dilligently uploading new pictures and trying to encourage more people to join and donate to the Happiness Wall!

Taking part in the 'benevolent postcard society' project has given me ideas (as well as something to look forward to in the post every month!)...

post and cameras

SO miraculously I have managed to get my digital camera working again! Hooray! (I suspect it just likes to go on vacation occasionally... it'll break down and quit working for a month or two then be fine! Oh well, we all need a holiday!)

So when the new posts arrive I'll be able to get good photos of them - I am working on replacing the old photos too but as the dance season starts in T-minus 14 days I'll be pretty busy soon!

However I just thought I'd update a little...

I'm taking part in The Benevolent Postcard Society and I'll be posting the cards I send and recieve (as they'll be temporarily living on the Happiness Wall until next September!). It's too late to take part but you should totally check out the website as there will be all manner of cuteness in postal form on there... http://benevolentpostcardsociety.blogspot.com/

And as I have yet to check the post box I thought I'd post an image that makes me happy...

Believe it or not this was a random shot from my disposable camera at the top of Marmot Basin from our trip to Jasper last February (those are my fella's feet at the bottom left!). Good times!

I'm sure we're all mourning the end of summer but just think of all the good things coming in Fall and Winter! That's enough to make anyone happy. :)

This made me happy today...

Ok so strictly speaking this isn't part of the Happiness Wall but as I haven't recieved any new posts just yet (come on peeps! let's get cracking!) here's something that made my day today...

It's a 'telephone stool' that I found on Kijiji... of course I'm going to have to recover the seat and possibly paint it (it looks kind of yellow from the pic which I actually quite like... of course it could just be naff pine veneer...) but isn't it cool?? Just imagine... yellow wood, a nice bright orange/white print fabric... I'm going to use it as a place to put shoes and keys and things next to my front door... when I finally get to Urban Outfitters in Vancouver I can get that cute birdcage mirror hook set they have to put above it for coats and things.

It's arriving on friday... SO stoked!! XD
